Eastwood Airline Tuxedo Guitar LEFT HAND Barney Kessel
Vintage 1965 Airline
made by Harmony guitar was marketed by Montgomery Ward with their Airline
brand name. The guitar was made in Chicago in 1965, and it is a Harmony
Rocket equivalent with a model # H54. The guitar is equipped with Diamond
(or Argyle) style of DeArmond pickups, two volume controls, two tone controls
and a pickup selector switch.
guitar is in excellent working condition with two fantastic pickups, volume
and tone controls without issues and fully working pickup selector switch.
The finish is still great, the paint is strong and still has its original
gloss. The pickguard is a replacement pickguard and the tailpiece is not
original to this model , but it is an old Harmony tailpiece. The two knobs
are original and two of them are not. The finish has some light scratches,
but no cracks, dents nor other issues.
a good part: this guitar is an excellent player with great neck and these
two sought after DeArmond pickups - they are truly fantastic with intense,
dynamic and musical sound. There is some fret wear on the first few frets,
but there is no buzzing and the frets still have miles to go. The neck is
very pleasant and straight - it is a bit on the thicker side, but I guess
it was design this way to stay straight without the truss rod.
guitar comes with a solid hard case shown.
